The Young and the Restless spoilers document that in Genoa City, Wisconsin the Abbott family hasn’t warmed to Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) as he hoped. Despite Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) insistence that Theo feels welcomed and Traci Abbott’s (Beth Maitland) warm-hearted gestures, it’s quite clear that Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) more recently revealed grandson is part of the clan in name only.

The will be reading included a prepared letter for Theo’s late father. Dina’s Alzheimer’s condition didn’t allow her to update her final wishes since she first met Theo.

Now, in seeking to challenge the outcome, Theo will pursue a legal path. But will his revenge plan prove to be misguided?

It’s a shame that Johnson has already left the cast of Y&R. He offered gratitude to all involved in the classic soap opera and to its many fans. Johnson will be missed, as he delivered solidly as the casting for what was a new character.

Advanced filming schedules mean that Theo will be last seen on-screen within approximately a month. So, his exit could include gaining some of Dina’s estate and then leaving town to enjoy it in peace. Then again, Brittany Hodges (Lauren Woodland) isn’t guaranteed to produce a legal victory.

Woodland, a real-life attorney, who has returned to the cast in recent years for brief stints, is scheduled to reappear during the mid part of November.

Kyle Abbott Is A Problem

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is smug, which is a credit to Mealor’s outstanding acting skill. Fans of this character feel the nuance that the actor who portrays him delivers on a fully consistent basis.

Theo has seen Kyle’s smug side, more often than not. This is a true unwanted cousin rivalry. Add in past Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) drama and it’s no wonder these former New York pals don’t get along.

Johnson’s character is competitive, which Kyle can’t stand. Being on his home turf makes Theo the enduring outsider, which plays into his developing departure from Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Farewell Projects As Memorable

Theo is an attention-getter. He has the charm that attracts the ladies, but also, like Kyle, sports a rough edge as part of his persona that pushes love off.

It’s intriguing that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is familiar with Theo. It would seem that she’s a prime candidate to be involved in his voluntary, or involuntary departure plans. With whatever happens, Theo will hopefully have a memorable sendoff.
