Royal Family News: Prince Harry Gets An Apology From Mail On Sunday Plus A Donation

Prince Harry British royal family news reveals that Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex sued Mail on Sunday and Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) claiming that they published falsehoods about his relationship with the UK’s Royal Marines. The comments indicated that after the Fresh Prince of Montecito stood down willingly from his royal duties, he also ignored the Marines.

Now Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Mail on Sunday has issued an apology and a retraction. But wait, there’s more! The outlet has also found it called for to give a donation to one of Harry’s charities, the Invictus Games.

Royal Family News: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Have A String Of Lawsuits Going

Harry’s legal maneuver is not the only one he and his wife Meghan Markle have going against the publication. They sued the paper over articles published in February 2019, including the publication of a pieces of a letter that she wrote to her estranged father, Thomas Markle. That trial date has been pushed back upon Meghan’s request.

Royal Family News: Prince Harry Has Been Issued An Apology And A Retraction As Well As A Donation

The apology reads in part: “An article on 25 October 2020 reported that Prince Harry had been accused by a top general of turning his back on the Royal Marines since withdrawing from his military roles in March and that, in an apparent snub to the Armed Forces, he had failed to reply to a letter from Lord Dannatt, a former Chief of the General Staff.”

The Mail on Sunday’s apology goes on to say that, “We now understand that Harry has been in contact in a private capacity with individuals in the military including in the Royal Marines to offer informal support since March and that whilst he did not initially receive the letter from Lord Dannatt referred to in the article due to administrative issues he has since replied on becoming aware of it. We apologize to Prince Harry and have made a donation to the Invictus Games Foundation.”

Isn’t it interesting that Prince Harry claimed the letter got lost in the mail? There is no way to prove that of course, unless it suddenly turned up later and the honest Prince chose to make the postmark public.

As far as Meghan’s ongoing legal woes with the The Mail on Sunday’s publisher, ANL, she has already lost some skirmishes in court.
