Eastenders spoilers from Digital Spy reveal that Chantelle turns to Kheerat because she trusts him more than anyone else right now. Plus, she thinks it’s easier to trust him than admitting she stayed in an abusive relationship with her family. She is afraid of being judged, especially since she has children.

Actress Jessica Plummer explained why Chantelle turns to Kheerat. Toward the end of the interview, she made a statement that could sprout another branch to this storyline. She mentioned that Chantelle might be starting to have some romantic feelings for Kheerat. Plummer said,

“I think she sees him as somebody she trusts more than a lot of people, sometimes it’s easier to trust a stranger than it is someone that knows you because there’s less to judge – I think Chantelle feels safe with him and is starting to have feelings for him.”

Potential Problems With This Story Arc

Eastenders spoilers reveal that Gray has always been paranoid about Chantelle’s faithfulness. He has repeatedly accused her of having affairs when she has done no such thing. Even a dentist’s appointment turned into allegations of her cheating.

At some point, Gray will figure out that Chantelle and Kheerat have been talking. Even if nothing happens between them, Gray will assume they are having an affair. This could lead him to react violently. Plus, there are those photos that Gray took of the Panesar business documents. Those could come back into play when Gray tries to destroy Kheerat and his family.

The other problem is that Chantelle might think she is feeling an attraction or love but is she really? Or she is confused and is really just grateful for Kheerat’s help? If these two end up getting together too soon, Chantelle will not have healed from her abusive marriage. She has to take that time before she even thinks about moving on.
