Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Why Steve Johnson Should Stay Stefano DiMera

Days of our Lives spoilers reveal that far from being a temporary side-show, Patchano looks to be in Salem to stay for a bit, and here’s why that’s a good thing.

Patchano (Stephen Nichols) is physically Patch with the memories and devious, twisted mind of Stefano. Who doesn’t like getting a sensational BOGO—this character twofer is spectacular!

On the one hand viewers have the legendary Stephen Nichols back in Salem, a feat they clamored for since his abrupt exit. No one can replace the late, great, Joseph Mascolo as Stefano, and by having Patch embody the evil genius, they have sidestepped the thorny issue of replacing him, yet given viewers Stefano back.

Nichol’s version of Stefano gets better every day. This week his mannerisms, intonation, even his glare were so reminiscent of the malevolent Stefano that I found myself marveling at the actor’s powers of transformation. Why can’t fans eat our cake and have it, too?

Days of our Lives spoilers – Patch and Kayla Johnson were a super couple but has their time come and gone?

It remains to be seen if and when Patch returns to his Sweetness. The safe bet is that he and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) eventually reunite, but really, is it a foregone conclusion? Or a decision that is in the best interest of storytelling?

Kayla has moved on with Justin (Wally Kurth) and seems happy as a clam in his arms. Of course, there may be a complication in the works if Judi Evans’ rumored return as his presumed dead wife Adrienne happens.

Then again, that would drive story and fuel a messy love triangle that could run for a long, soapy time.

Days of our Lives spoilers – Salem is full of good guys, but there’s always room for one more villain on a daytime drama

The fact of the matter is that DOOL could use a top-notch villain to match wits with the too seldom seen Victor (John Aniston).

Patch was a bit of a conflicted anti-hero, but in the end he could be counted on to embrace the bright side, unlike Stefano who was always up for a game of entertainingly evil shenanigans.

Days of our Lives spoilers – What’s next for Patchano and his demented sidekick Dr. Rolf?

For the moment it looks like viewers are in for a wild and compelling ride, with Dr. Rolf (William Utay) suggesting all sorts of madness be done with Doc (Diedre Hall) to satisfy Stefano’s obsession. At the same time Hattie will pretend to be Doc—what comes next? Be sure to tune in and find out!
