NBC Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates reveal Kristian Alfonso played Hope Williams Brady for nearly 40 years. So, it came as a shock when she announced her exit. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, she talked about how the soap has changed the past few years and failed to allow Hope to have a decent chance at romance. Alfonso said it’s not the same Days that she once knew.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – DOOL, You’ve Changed
When Alfonso talked to the magazine, she made it clear that the soap has changed the past few years. Fans have talked about this on social media and in soap forums. Longtime viewers remember what the soap used to be about, and have not been pleased with the recent changes. Those that have been watching forever might still tune in out of loyalty, but the changes are something fans discuss quite often.
DOOL Spoilers – Not The Days Of Our Lives As I Know It
Apparently, it’s a concern to the actors, as well. One tidbit that the actress told Entertainment Tonight in a previous interview is that there was no discussion about her leaving the canvas for five months. It sounded like these things were always talked about with the actors and that didn’t happen this time. Speaking to SOD, Alfonso also had this compelling statement,
“In the last few years, Days of Our Lives is not the Days of Our Lives as I know it.”
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Snuffing Out All Potential Romances
DOOL fans remember the devastation when Peter Reckell left the soap. Bo Brady was brought back one final time, but only to give viewers closure. He died in Hope’s arms from an inoperable brain tumor. She had a potential romance with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), but the minute the romance began, he slept with Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). So, “Rope” never had a chance.
Then, there was a pairing that Alfonso thought worked quite well: Hope and Aiden Jennings (Daniel Cosgrove). However, writers then turned the nice romance dirty.
