Apparently, it’s a concern to the actors, as well. One tidbit that the actress told Entertainment Tonight in a previous interview is that there was no discussion about her leaving the canvas for five months. It sounded like these things were always talked about with the actors and that didn’t happen this time. Speaking to SOD, Alfonso also had this compelling statement,

“In the last few years, Days of Our Lives is not the Days of Our Lives as I know it.”

DOOL fans remember the devastation when Peter Reckell left the soap. Bo Brady was brought back one final time, but only to give viewers closure. He died in Hope’s arms from an inoperable brain tumor. She had a potential romance with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), but the minute the romance began, he slept with Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). So, “Rope” never had a chance.

Then, there was a pairing that Alfonso thought worked quite well: Hope and Aiden Jennings (Daniel Cosgrove). However, writers then turned the nice romance dirty.

Dool Spoilers – Why Is Everyone Leaving?

Maybe it’s not so much about pay cuts and a grueling schedule, maybe it’s not being treated as well as they used to. Maybe they are seeing fan dissatisfaction.
