Young and the Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Shocked When Nick Dumps Her

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) - Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) gambled on The Young and the Restless. She requested and received a legal deal from Christine (Lauralee Bell) that protects her from prosecution in the J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) case. But the ‘Phick’ immunity plea she makes to Nick (Joshua Morrow) is soundly rejected.

Nick can’t believe that Phyllis, the woman he thinks he’s in love with again, testifies against Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and Sharon (Sharon Case). But she does and that results in the Phick split that many Genoa City residents have been hoping for and a strong contingent of Y&R fans have been waiting for. Viewer knowledge of Phyllis’ actions primed them for the fallout that arrives.

Young And The Restless – Fearsome Foursome No Longer

To her credit, Phyllis did speak well of the Cover-up trio referenced above. They used to be a Fearsome Foursome, as Vickie once dubbed them. But Phyllis’ admission in defense of herself reduced the ‘Girls Night In Group’ by a dramatic one.

Cricket, a lesser used nickname that Phyllis uttered as a poke, wasn’t impressed by the attempts to be sympathetic to Nikki, or Victoria. While Tognoni’s well-played character spoke in defense of Nikki’s instinctive parental actions and Vickie’s genuinely life-threatening circumstances, GC’s district attorney’s personal history with this villain allowed unique insight into her motives and current state of mind.

Young And The Restless – Nick Has Stood By Phyllis In The Past

For his part, Nick recently stood by Phyllis after learning that she had been withholding information from him about her membership in the Cover-up Crew. She was grateful he saw her point of view and must have been guessing that her latest self-centered move would also be manageable.

But Nick, along with his father, saw through Phyllis’ actions. Victor’s (Eric Braeden) courtroom promise of retribution isn’t likely to be blocked by Nick now, which should make Phyllis leery.

What did Morrow’s head-in-the-soapy-sand character believe, that Phyllis had changed since Phick combined to destroy Shick in the mid-2000’s? If so, he only has himself to blame. If he’s able to maintain his emotions, he’ll never grant Phyllis the relationship immunity deal she craves.
