Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) love each other on the Young and the Restless (Y&R). But all Kola can do now is look longingly at each other.

Such was the scene at Crimson Lights, as Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King) stepped between Kyle and his perceived one and only, who’s using half of Mrs. Abbott’s liver. Yes, this is so delightfully soapy.

The idea that Y&R would permanently shelve one of, if not its most, endearing couples is preposterous. The current powers in charge of what Genoa City is are also fully in control of what it becomes. That’s why the flashes of uncertainty on Summer’s face are fully justified.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Summer Newman Was Fully Self-Centered

King’s alter ego has smartly been written into vulnerable territory. Summer’s return to town last June established a devolve, where she became fully self-centered. Lola was later introduced as the anti-Summer, which is the driving reason why Kyle was and remains so enchanted.

Miss Rosales didn’t mean no dramatics, as Kyle learned. But she wasn’t purposely manipulating him. Instead, her lack of relationship experience simply produced angst.

Summer believed, as she told her mom, Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni), that marrying Kyle before the organ donation surgery wasn’t based on desperation. Summer wanted to wake up after surgery and have her husband by her side, which she did. That all makes sense and also affirms deeper thoughts.

Mrs. Abbott truly does believe that Lola is Kyle’s passing, emotional fad, that she represents a rebound, and will always be the lesser in comparison. If true, Summer will eventually be revealed as wise. However, said conviction is also steeped in hope.

The anticipated Kola reunion, whenever that happens, won’t necessarily be the end of Skyle. Who’s to truly say that Summer is wrong? She knows him better than anyone, including Lola, and if Y&R is actually evolving King’s character, might be proven right within a year or so.
