General Hospital Spoilers: William Lipton Shares His Journey As Cameron Webber In Port Charles

General Hospital star William Lipton

Viewers know him as Cameron Webber on “General Hospital,” the teenager who’s had a troubled life growing up. In real life, the character’s portrayer, William Lipton, is having the time of his life. The young actor is proud to be part of a great community where he gets to play a role, which is by far the “first big, longlasting thing” he’s ever done.

Lipton gets to work with talented actors and gets to learn new things whenever he’s on the set. But he also admitted there were challenges in the beginning, especially when it comes to how many episodes and how fast they’re being filmed every day. Fortunately, he’s got the support of the show’s cast and crew. He’s performing well not only on-screen but off-screen as well.

Passion for Music

He does not only have a passion for acting but for music as well. Viewers may recall that he wrote and performed the song, which his alter ego sang at Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) wedding.

“I just happened to be writing a song from the perspective of my character, and the fact that I was able to present that on the show was so amazing,” he explained.

“It’s been such a privilege to get to mix my acting with my music. I love playing someone else as an actor, and I also love writing music,” he continued.

The talented young musician also played on the FOMO Tour together with WJM bandmate Jeremey Yun. “We opened up for a band called Pretty Much,” he said. “They’re a huge boy band. That was amazing,” he added.

But Lipton’s life doesn’t only revolve around music and acting. He still lives a normal life when he’s in San Francisco’ Bay Area. It’s where he spends time with friends and family, makes music, and attends a local public school.

He admitted that he was nervous to come back to school.

It’s amazing how he can balance his work, school, and being a normal teenager. He attributed all these to his parents’ expectations and what he believes he needs for his development.

“I feel very strongly that I want to stay in public school,” Lipton said.

“There’s a lot of social aspects I feel are very crucial to my development. [Juggling work and school] takes a lot of communication with the teachers. But I love what I do — and in order to do what I love, I have to do well in school. That’s the rule. If I start messing up in school, it’s game over,” he explained.
