General Hospital spoilers tease that there may be a silver lining when it comes to Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) being remanded to Ferncliff for a psychiatric evaluation.
On the February 20 episode, Franco shocked everyone in the courtroom, including his new bride Elizabeth Webber Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), by pleading guilty. In fact, she slapped him and threw her rings on the floor.
Of course, this was the plan agreed upon by Franco and Commissioner Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry). Franco’s attorney and father Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) did try a last minute save by bringing up a precedent of someone being insane and not being able to plead intelligently, even after Jordan whispered to him it wouldn’t work. So the judge remanded him to Ferncliff for two weeks to be evaluated.
General Hospital Spoilers Ryan Was Thrown For A Loop
Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) appeared to be thrown for a loop when he heard this, however. But then he’d just come from Ferncliff, where he had stashed Laura Webber Collins (Genie Francis), who had followed him over there, with his twin, the real Kevin Collins (also Jon Lindstrom) in the basement.
There is a very noticeable water heater in the room where they’re locked up, and it appears to have the connections (although it’s not hooked up since it’s a prop) for a gas water heater. Longtime GH viewers will recall that when Ryan originally “died” it was in a gas explosion in a funhouse, where Kevin had tracked him down and the two had a confrontation.
He also mentioned the word “hell” to Kevin and Laura, and “voices from the past”. Could he be planning an explosive end to Kevin and Laura like the one he lived through?
Franco will be exonerated eventually when Kevin and Laura are freed and Ryan is either dead or brought to trial. GH showrunners haven’t released when or how Ryan will leave the canvas, but his best outcome would be commitment to the supermax style mental hospital where Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) currently is.

GH Spoilers Will Franco Be The Hero Who Brings Ryan Down?
He will not be able to escape, but if Ava Jerome (Maura West) doesn’t kill him first, Heather is one mama bear he won’t want to encounter – she’s Franco’s mother. Franco could be the hero who saves Kevin and Laura from an explosive end and helps expose Ryan and bring him down. Stay tuned to GH and keep checking General Hospital spoilers frequently to see if Franco does indeed save the day (and Kevin and Laura) during his time at Ferncliff.
