General Hospital Spoilers: Kim’s Extreme Grief Sends Her Over The Edge?

General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Cain (Billy Miller) - Kim Nero (Tamara Braun)General Hospital spoilers tease that once Kim Nero (Tamara Braun) and Drew Cain (Billy Miller) return from scattering Oscar Nero Quartermaine’s (Garren Lake Stitt) ashes at Mount Kilimanjaro, as he requested, Kim, as Oscar’s mother, may suffer the worst effects from her extreme grief over her son.

Soap Opera Digest summer spoilers tease that Kim’s grief reactions will be extreme. And they will impact the lives of both Drew and her boyfriend Julian Jerome in major ways.

General Hospital has always been a forerunner in dealing with social issues. And they may have Kim face a severe form of major depressive disorder and possibly anxiety issues as a result of her grief, that could be crippling to the point that she may not be able to work at her job as an obstetrician and gynecologist at General Hospital.

The fact that Kim was sleeping when Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) came to talk to Julian in a recent episode coupled with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) seeing a different OB/GYN could be clues to what Kim will endure post-Oscar.

For the past 16 years, Kim had centered her whole life around her son Oscar. She was never  involved romantically with any new man other than Julian. Even that relationship she kind of fell into as a result of their close friendship.

She even viewed her career of bringing new life into the world as a kind of a sidepiece. Her whole life focus has been Oscar, and now that he is gone, Kim is empty.

General Hospital Spoilers – Commitment To A Psych Wing?

She may feel like she has lost her reason to live. And while GH may not go so dark as to involve her in a suicide storyline, it’s possible that she may be tempted. Or she may just shut herself away in bed and refuse to eat or do anything constructive for herself.

Drew and Julian may both find themselves trying to be her caretakers. And one or both of them may have to make a decision to get her professional help whether she wants it or not. This could involve a judicial commitment to either a psych wing of GH or another facility.

Years ago, GH had a storyline of Carly needing professional care for post-partum depression following the birth of Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). So they may do for something similar with Kim. The difference would be the diagnosis may be major depressive disorder, but the onset is because of the loss of a child rather than the birth of one.
