General Hospital Perry Shen Teases Baby Swap Storyline Is Coming To An End

General Hospital News: Brad Cooper (Perry Shen) Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes)Perry Shen’s Brad Cooper has been in the center of the baby swap storyline on “General Hospital” involving Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) baby. Nelle swapped the baby with Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) dead baby, and Brad ended up adopting baby Wiley to complete his and Lucas Jones’ (Ryan Carnes) family.

In an interview with Soaps In Depth, Shen said that the baby swap was totally about Nelle, but “Brad fell for it hook, line and sinker.”

Brad is now far from his old self, who was a remorseless conniver, but Shen said many people still see his character as despicable. On one hand, he has also generated a fan-base that understands his character well and knows why he does what he does.

General Hospital News – Chen Says Brad Cooper Is Easily Swayed

“There’s a percentage of people who’ve seen his heart. They know he’s very impulsive and easily swayed emotionally,” Shen said. He also said Brad loves Lucas, and whatever he’s doing right now, he’s doing what he feels is best for his family.

“General Hospital” spoilers tease the baby storyline is coming to its end. Nelle will be exposed for what she did to her and Michael’s son. Brad and Lucas will surely lose baby Wiley. This will come about as Willow comes clean about how Julian Jerome (William DeVry) convinced her to put her baby up for adoption.

Meanwhile, Shen also shared how this storyline has opened up another part of the world for Brad. Brad gets to bond with Julian, and he appreciates he has someone to talk to when he needs it. Shen said that DeVry has been great as well.

General Hospital News – He Also Enjoys Working With MacMullen

“The scene where I first unloaded on Julian was a heavy day. Wil called the evening before and asked if I wanted to run lines. ‘Oh my gosh, thank you!’” Shen said.

Shen also loved working more with Duell and MacMullen. He admitted that when Michael was mourning the loss of his child, it broke his heart as well because he was so good. About MacMullen, Shen said that it’s fun to work with her who’s just starting out on her acting career but she’s already doing a great job.

Finally, even though he’s a straight, married man in real life, Shen said that playing a gay man has been “very simple” for him.
