General Hospital News: Vinessa Antoine Scores Another Primetime GigVinessa Antoine is getting busy with another work. Her “Diggstown” TV series in Canada just premiered last Wednesday, but Antoine shares news about another project she has started to work on.

In her Twitter post, Antoine, who played Jordan Ashford on “General Hospital,” teased about her new role on Fox’s “The Resident.” She shared what welcomed her on her first day of work, which include a maternity dress and fake pregnancy pad.

“When the first thing that you see to start your day of work is this….you know it’s gonna be a good day,” she wrote.

Antoine also took a selfie and a snap of her script, which reveals that she will appear in the 20th episode titled “Black Cloud.” It was written by Amy Holden Jones, Majumbar-Langham and Chris Bessounian, and directed by Rob Corn. The synopsis of this episode is not yet available. “The Resident” is now on its second season.

“The Resident” revolves around the story of a young and idealistic doctor, Devon Pravesh (Manish Dayal), who begin his internship senior resident Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry). Conrad opened Devon’s eyes to the harsh realities the hospital has to deal with every day, including issues on medical ethics and health care industry.

Meanwhile, Antoine has made a mark in history for her role in “Diggstown,” being the first black female lead in a Canadian primetime TV series. She plays Marcie Diggs, a star corporate lawyer who works in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Marcie’s aunt committed suicide after a malicious prosecution, prompting Marcie to reevaluate her own priorities.

“Diggstown” premiered on March 6, and Antoine received a shower of praises from fans and colleagues. “Wow!! Bravo @VinessaAntoine and to the whole cast of #DiggstownCBC . This first episode brought intrigue, raw emotions . It’s REAL. I can’t wait to see what their stories are! Well done @DiggstownCBC,” one fan commented over at Twitter.

“CBC knocked it out of the park with #DiggstownCBC. Phenomenal lead actress and strong supporting cast with excellent storytelling makes it the surefire hit of year,” another one wrote.

Of course, Antoine also shared how proud she is of the show, saying, “This show. This Character. These stories. They literally changed my life. I’m so proud of the cast, crew, producers, writers and everyone involved that helped put @DiggstownCBC together. Thank you @citizen1970 Floyd Kane for trusting me with this character. History. Made.”

Antoine revealed that US distribution of “Diggstown” is in the works, which is good news for her fans wanting to see the drama.
