EastEnders Spoilers: Shane Richie Hints Possible Return Of Alfie Moon

EastEnders Spoilers: Shane Richie Hints Possible Return Of Alfie MoonAt the end of EastEnders’ Christmas special, viewers thought that Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) was left for dead after his car was found at the edge of the cliff. However, it was revealed later that he’s been in hiding along with the £50,000 lent to him by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to settle his debts, which was due to his failed funeral plan business.

The last time his wife Kat heard from him was when he sent her a text message that read: “I’m in trouble. Need 48 hours. Trust me.” But it would seem that fans have not seen the last of Alfie Moon.

EastEnders – Richie Suggests Alfie Is In Spain

In an interview on This Morning with host Eamon Holmes, actor Shane Richie, who plays Alfie Moon, hinted at a possible return for his character. He also suggested that Alfie might be in Spain and said: “That’s right, I’d like to think it is me, Kat keep the faith. Alfie’s on the run as a drag queen in Spain. No, Alfie’s on the run with Phil Mitchell’s 50 grand.”

“They’ve left the door open and I know Kate Oates, who’s there now, is a wonderful executive producer and she’s bringing in some wonderful new characters and some great storylines,” he added.

Alfie Moon has been in more than 1,000 EastEnders episodes since he made his first appearance in 2002. He’s was on the show from 2002 to 2005 and then took a break. After his long hiatus, he came back in 2010 and had been with the soap until 2016. He then reappeared in 2018 and hopefully will return to the soap soon.

EastEnders – Alfie Moon Has Run The Gamut Of Storylines

The charming Alfie Moon has been part of many different storylines. He’s gone to prison for credit card fraud, he’s had to deal with affairs, cancer, arson, and was also in a turbulent relationship with Kat Slater.

Over the years, he has become one of the leading male characters in the soap and losing him will definitely disappoint countless veteran viewers. However, it will always be up to the soap’s powers that be. Hopefully, they have something big in store for him and they’re just waiting for the right time to bring The Vic’s ex-landlord back.
