Days of Our Lives alum Daniel Cosgrove played Aiden Jennings on the NBC soap opera. Since his exit, he has stayed busy. This includes his newest project, Almost Family. Learn more about the show and what else the actor is working on.

The FOX TV show premieres on October 2. According to the network’s official website, Almost Family revolves around an “unusual family formed through extreme odds.” Storylines will include hot topics such as human connection, identity, as well as what it means to really be a family.

“…this unconventional dramedy taps directly into the zeitgeist, harnessing the emotional complications that new generations of IVF-bred children all face.”

The series revolves around Julie Bechley (Brittany Snow). She discovers her father, leon Bechley (Timothy Hutton), a fertility doctor, used his own sperm to create over 100 children. The offspring include Julia’s ex-best friend, Edie Palmer (Megalyn Echikunwoke) and a former Olympic athlete, Roxy Doyle (Emily Osment).

Cosgrove will guest star as “Chad,” Soap Opera News reported. No other information has been released regarding his character.

Since leaving Days of Our Lives, the actor has been busy in the entertainment business. He has appeared in Billions, The Blacklist, You, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Elementary. Prior to DOOL, he had roles on Person of Interest, Unforgettable, As the World Turns, All My Children, The Good Wife and Guiding Light.

When paying Aiden Jennings on the NBC soap opera, he began as a good guy. He was a lawyer with an interest in Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso). Aiden and Hope actually met when their two children had issues with each other at school.

However, as his time on the daytime series came to an end, his character became more complicated. There was even a plot in which he was forced to try to kill Hope. That is when Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) turned up alive just in time to save his one true love. However, their reunion wouldn’t last long. Bo died from an inoperable brain tumor days later. He asked Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) to look after Hope.
