Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) went off half-cocked to the jail on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’. He left Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang), who he’d just foolishly lambasted, and was intent on telling Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden) off.

Why would he do such a thing, considering what his son did to her? While Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) pain is driving Ridge, he’s lived long enough to keep his feelings in check, but didn’t.

Brooke has often cited Taylor Hayes’ (Hunter Tylo) shortcomings and her mental health issues. Ridge’s current wife may have been compelled to target this ex-wife and rival because of the way Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) has been acting for months. But Brooke can’t deny her husband’s behavior, or the link his influence has also had on his son.

Yes, Flo was responsible for her own actions. She didn’t have to agree to Reese Buckingham’s (Wayne Brady) request. Flo wasn’t Beth Spencer’s (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson) birth mother. While Flo thought she was helping a mother out of a bad situation, she should have asked far more questions and never signed legal papers claiming to have given birth.

She also didn’t have to allow Thomas to intimidate her into remaining silent after he forced her to tell the truth earlier this summer. When she did, Flo chose to do wrong.

However, Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards) is right. Flo was victimized by both Reese and Thomas. Brady’s character was intent on satisfying his gambling debt and protecting his daughter’s life, which is why he asked Flo to pose as a birth mother. Then, Atkinson’s alter ego wanted Flo and others to keep quiet so he could pursue a plan to marry Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle), which was her last name at the time.

Flo is not a greater victim than Beth, Hope, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), or Steffy. Even though Bowden’s character did wrong, she also was wronged and that matters. Ridge didn’t realize that what he did to Flo in the victor’s room in the jail house was very similar to what Thomas did to her.

Just as Thomas threatened Flo, so too did Ridge in telling her that he’d make sure she’d suffer until every last broken heart was healed. Thomas was on the same type of self-centered power trip that Ridge is now taking. Striking out at others, meaning Brooke and now Flo, as a way to deal with personal and family flaws.
