Are You Glad The Young and The Restless Adam Newman Is Back?

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is back in a big way. As Y&R viewers know, he’s just made his presence known to Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), and she was shocked to see his face again. But once she got used to the idea that he was really alive, the two had a productive chat.

Of course, whether Adam was being sincere with Sharon remains to be seen. After she convinced him to at least think about coming home to Genoa City (which took a considerable amount of effort), she left and viewers saw Adam smirk ever so slightly before he proceeded to pack his bags.

Y&R viewers will have to wait to see whether that sly smirk meant anything sinister. Of course, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has already opined that Adam might be faking his amnesia in order to avoid the prison sentence he still had to serve at the time of his “death” in the explosion.

But as Y&R viewers know, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has seen to it that all charges against Adam have been dropped, so if Adam were faking amnesia, there’d be no point to continue the ruse now. And Nick has another big reason to worry about Adam’s return – Nick has been raising Christian Newman (Jamie and Alister Tobias), but given that Adam is Christian’s biological father, there’s a good chance we could be looking at a custody war in the near future.

Another GC resident who isn’t looking forward to Adam’s return is Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). As Y&R viewers know, he’s deeply concerned about the effect that Adam’s homecoming will have on Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Adam and Victoria had a contentious relationship, and Billy knows that Victoria has finally found her rightful place beside her father at Newman Enterprises.

Adam’s return could shake things up at Newman Enterprises if Victor decides that Adam should be part of the family again in a professional sense. Adam could ultimately undermine what Victoria has worked so hard for professionally over the years. Billy knows that Adam’s return could be emotionally tough on Victoria, and he’s vowed to protect her from any mayhem that Adam could cause.

Of course, these are just a couple of the ways that Adam’s return could affect his family. Y&R spoilers indicate that in the coming days, Victor will struggle to keep his family united and that Adam’s family reunion will be short-lived, so it certainly seems that Adam’s return will serve to drive a wedge and shake things up.
