The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victor Sizes Up Arturo – Nikki’s Choice Scrutinized

Victor (Eric Braeden) and Helen (Sitara Hewitt) were, or are an item on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But even with that being true, Arturo (Jason Canela) isn’t seen as the right guy for Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). No, Victor was, is, and will be the only man.

Arturo came to the Ranch recently. Now that Victor is on the mend from his stroke and is back in his home office, he’s getting back to his old self. With that reawakening comes his awareness of what Nikki’s been doing.

A handful of months ago ‘Niktor’ negotiated a reunion. They sat in the living room, sans lawyers, and worked out the terms of their ongoing business arrangement that looks like a personal one to the outside world. The longtime love birds mutually agreed to live separate lives under the same roof that Newman Enterprises’ vast resources provides for.

Nikki was not interested in slicing herself off from the trappings that Victor’s lavish lifestyle offers. She was not leaving Victor for the umpteenth time. Instead, she kept their most recent reconnection intact and found a new friend in Arturo. That was all well and good until Victor saw this link in real time.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) introduced Canela’s character to the Newman family. This contractor and his crew were hired to work on ‘New Hope’. Separately, Arturo’s company wasn’t able to complete the bathroom project at the penthouse, which led to a discovery of mega-money that eventually facilitated Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) write-out.

Victor’s chat with Arturo will let this twenty-something-year-old man know that Nikki is the other half of ‘Niktor’. No daylight will be permitted within that statement. Of course, Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) recent introduction to Arturo is telegraphing an upcoming secondary conflict with Victor.

The ‘Black Knight’ has never been overly fond of any of Abby’s romantic connections, save for Ben (Sean Carrigan). So Victor is already primed to detest his daughter’s selection if Arturo becomes her next man. But at least Nikki will have removed herself, albeit unwillingly, from Victor’s wrath.
