The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Neil Restores Order – Winters’ Family Together Again

Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ were touched to see Kristoff St. John’s (Neil Winters) return to the show. Neil’s dramatic entrance at the end of a recent episode fittingly welcomed back one of Y&R’s legacy characters and most beloved stars.

As daytime devotees know, St. John took a leave of absence last year. He’s since recovered his health and has been recording since March. Soap’s advanced filming schedule therefore allowed Neil to reappear in mid-April.

While Neil’s been away Devon (Bryton James) got off-track, or so ‘Hevon’ detractors would claim. Hilary (Mishael Morgan) convinced her one true love, Mr. Hamilton, to have a baby with her. That plan has already led to expected turmoil.

Neil’s backstory with Hilary began when Ann Turner (Hilary’s real name) came to Genoa City in 2013. She’d convinced herself that Neil was responsible for her mother’s alcohol poisoning death, which he wasn’t. Eventually, the pair formed a romantic relationship and were married.

‘Nilary’ purchased a dream home that quickly devolved into a nightmare. Neil was prepping the abode when he touched live electrical wires and was blinded. That established a storyline to Y&R’s branch arch where ‘Hevon’ formed. Neil was naturally devastated and later followed the couple on their honeymoon. That led to Hilary’s accidental fall and subsequent coma, which facilitated a maternity leave when Morgan’s first child was born.

Chatter regarding Neil has increased in recent weeks, as Devon and Lily (Christel Khalil) spoke about their dad coming back to town. He’s said to have been helping to care for Moses (most recently played by Dax Randall) while Sophia (most recently played by Julia Pace Mitchell) was recovering from a car accident.

Lily’s life has improved in past months, as she and Cane (Daniel Goddard) were able to resolve their marital issues. Devon has been running the company he founded with his dad, the Hamilton Winters Group, but bought GC Buzz during this intermediary period. That business decision included the choice to position Hilary in Devon’s office and then within his personal life again.

Neil’s return takes place prior to Devon and Hilary knowing if they’ve conceived their hoped-for child. Yes, it’s good the head of the Winters’ family is back. His counsel will be needed.
