The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily’s Twelve-Month Prison Term Crushes Ashby Family – Cane Spirals?

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily's Twelve-Month Prison Term Crushes Ashby Family - Cane Spirals?Lily (Christel Khalil) is heading to prison on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Her sentence will be for twelve months, includes community service, and a monetary fine. Yes, Hilary (Mishael Morgan) continues to make an impact on Genoa City even after her death.

Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) worst fear, the reality he wished to prevent by withholding the truth from his wife’s driving mistake, has been realized. Now he, Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry), Mattie (Lexie Stevenson), and Sam will suffer for the next year as Lily is kept from them by the state of Wisconsin.

Hilary paid a double, ultimate punishment. The tractor trailer that struck Lily’s car initially took the life of ‘Hevon’s’ unborn child. Then, days later, Hilary expired as a result of the injuries she suffered.

How ironic that Lily, who was attacked again and again by Hilary, would now be forced behind bars because of an incident her longtime nemesis helped to cause. No rational mind would peg all responsibility for the accident on Lily. Yet in this soapy world, she’s been held mostly accountable.

Devon’s (Bryton James) name hasn’t been mentioned until now because he chose to separate himself from the Ashby’s. While still evidencing compassion for the twins, he saw his brother-in-law’s behavior as an offense against Hilary’s memory.

Morgan’s previously announced, voluntary departure from Y&R came as a surprise to hardcore viewers. Subsequent public information revealed by executive producer and head writer Mal Young has since confirmed that the actor was on board with Hilary being killed off. She was moved by the idea that the character she embodied would only be played by her.

Khalil recently announced her voluntary drop to recurring status. She’s advised that she looks forward to Lily’s continuing adventures in the future, so no change in the character’s prison term, or recast appears to be coming.

Hilary and the child who would have been ‘Hevon’s’ first-born are in Heaven. Lily will be living in the state penitentiary until this time next year. Yes, these sharply written storyline climaxes proved quite dramatic on Y&R.
