The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Kyle Wants To Damage Jack – New Family Battle Develops

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Kyle Wants To Damage Jack – New Family Battle DevelopsKyle (Michael Mealor) has odd feelings about his dad on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Little does either man know that they’re not Abbott’s. But that issue hasn’t yet become central to Jack’s (Peter Bergman) view of reality. Instead, he’s pondering the fact that his son is working with Victor (Eric Braeden).

Newman Enterprises has long been the bane of Jack’s existence. The man who heads that conglomerate, long dubbed the ‘Moustache’, is currently in a coma. Paul (Doug Davidson) believes that Jack created Victor’s state, which is why Bergman is currently outfitted in a blue jumper.

It was unexpected and very odd that Kyle sent a no-confidence vote to be read at the Jabot board meeting a handful of months ago. Jack’s son cast the deciding vote against him. But Jack was able to retain power because he invoked the blood Abbott clause.

Said legal language was crafted by Jack years ago in order to keep Phyllis’ (then played by Michelle Stafford) hands out of the family business. Ironically and now, incredibly, the clause Jack invented will work against him. But who will run Jabot once Jack learns that John (Jerry Douglas) isn’t his father?

Let’s also address the storyline that’s been created regarding Kyle. At this point it appears a bit pushed. The recast of this character seemingly necessitated the creation of conflict. So Y&R decided to write what is now Mealor’s character back to an alliance with Victor, as was also played in episodes years ago.

By logic, Kyle has no real grumble against his father. So the audience is being asked to suspend disbelief, a term Samuel Taylor Coleridge is believed to have created, in order to go along with this developing arc.

When viewers accept the notion that Kyle feels Jack hasn’t been a true father to him, then the idea of Mealor’s alter ego working with Victor makes sense. Due to that unholy alliance, Jack will need to fight his son while also soon learning that John was not his father. Yes, the walls of personal history will be pushing Bergman’s embattled character from two ends in Genoa City this spring.
