The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Kyle is Major Threat – Abbott Family in Peril

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Kyle is Major Threat – Abbott Family in PerilKyle (Michael Mealor) isn’t back on ‘The Young and the Restless’ for a friendly visit. He doesn’t want to reestablish family bonds. His goal is to use Abbott family connections to gain power and create disruption.

There is a problem with Kyle’s plan. He’s not an Abbott, though Dina’s (Marla Adams) recent shocking admission isn’t yet within his grip. A double-edged issue will exist once it is.

As Y&R fans have seen, Kyle took control at Jabot because Jack (Peter Bergman) is in prison. He was able to do that because of the blood Abbott clause his dad created years ago in order to keep Phyllis (then played by Michelle Stafford) at bay. Though the legal language was also invoked within recent months to block Ashley (Eileen Davidson) from becoming Chief Executive Officer.

The two-pronged problem for the Abbott family involves Kyle’s current actions and his projected response once he learns that Jack isn’t John’s (Jerry Douglas) son. There’s no telling how this recast character will react when that threshold is crossed.

This edition of Kyle has a dark edge. His passive-aggressive rage toward Jack is misplaced at this moment in storyline history. A past alliance with Victor knows, but 2018’s suggested angst doesn’t fully compute.

Y&R has opted to create a revision where Kyle has come to loathe his father in his seeming late-20’s. That’s a stretch, but it’s soap. Yet fans of the genre will accept what’s projected if this arc leads somewhere reasonable.

If Kyle learns Jack’s secret and retains it, he’ll remain in power. If others, including Ashley, know that he knows that Kyle will be booted from the CEO chair. Billy (Jason Thompson) will be in charge then.

It must be said that Jack would not be in prison if he hadn’t gone to the Ranch with vengeance on his mind and booze on his breath. Upon arrival, he didn’t appear inebriated but was still drunk with arrogance. That’s why he looked around and took Victor’s backup hard drive before calling in the emergency.

Yes, Kyle is to blame for Jack’s corporate fright. But Dina’s son has himself to blame for his imprisoned predicament, mostly.
