The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack Takes Aim At Chancellor – Cane Ready For War

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack Takes Aim At Chancellor – Cane Ready For WarCane (Daniel Goddard) was minding his own business on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He was long removed from the Brash and Sassy debacle that played out at Brash and Sassy. But the head Jill (Jess Walton) installed at Chancellor Industries will now be targeted by none other than Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), uh, make that Jack Whoever.

Is Jack really Phillip Chancellor II’s (Donnelly Rhodes) biological son? The character in question, Genoa City residents, and viewers really don’t know yet. But that’s not stopping ‘Smilin Jack’.

Jack has long been brash and sassy. He grew up as the entitled son of a man, John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), who earned his way into wealth. Selective detractors often question in retrospect as part of a subjective process. Jabot didn’t become successful due to random chance. John made it happen and his family (a subjective term itself within this evolving storyline) has benefited ever since.

So, Dina’s (Marla Adams) later-in-life moral awakening caused her to make amends. Faced with her Alzheimer’s diagnosis, Dina is demonstrating great courage. Along with that are the effects of her condition, including what was said about Jack’s seeming biology surprise.

Jack and Kyle (Michael Mealor) took Dina’s saved key and located one cryptic black and white image within a safety deposit that happened to be located in a downtown bank. Was the obviously soapy air-brushed photo proof that Phillip is Jack’s real father? That’s what he and viewers are being asked to believe.

Will this arc prove to be similar to the one where Jill came to believe that Katherine (played by the late, infinitely great Jeanne Cooper) was her mother, then later wasn’t? Newer viewers might feel duped if that proves to be the case. But tenured fans, or savvy daytime observers in general may not.

Good soap is about enjoying the escapist ride, which is similar to being on a roller coaster. How often has anyone heard a fellow rider asking what electric mileage said coaster is getting, or why a linear destination wasn’t achieved? Those questions are understood as irrelevant.

Jack Abbott. Jack Chancellor. Jack Whoever? That’s the question engaged soap fans are asking.
