The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack Joins Dark Horse – Nick Recruits Victor’s Nemesis

Nick (Joshua Morrow) is beyond serious on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He’s waging an all out war against Victor (Eric Braeden). And Nick’s top partner is his father’s longstanding nemesis is none other than Jack (Peter Bergman).

It makes sense that Morrow’s transforming character would have tapped ‘Smilin’ Jack’. Bergman’s character helped to raise Nicholas during the time before Morrow became the recast (1994) in the then-SORAS’d role. He’s remained a confidant during most of Nick’s adult years, with a few acknowledged fallout’s.

Jack’s current paternity pursuit caused him to leave Jabot, with no apparent plans of ever returning. Of course ‘ever’ is unlikely in soapland. But, for the time being, Jack can work elsewhere.

Nick just revealed his business plan to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Vickie (Amelia Heinle), Abby (Melissa Ordway), Sharon (Sharon Case), and Summer (Hunter King). His daughter definitely supported the cause. Nick’s younger sister seemed inclined to at least consider joining the effort.

Victor’s behavior keeps everyone off-balance. So, while it’s likely that all five ladies won’t immediately join Dark Horse, time will surely cause all holdouts to reconsider Nick’s wisdom and possibly also accept his offer. Victor will do something to set each person off, thereby spurning individual decisions.

Jack has no qualms about this new venture. He’s fully on-board with anyone, most especially Nick, taking on and taking down the ‘Moustache’. Jack’s creative approach and deep experience, particularly where business is concerned, will prove to be an invaluable resource.

Y&R has surely crafted a fresh take storyline. Yes, Nick has gone out on his own before, as the referenced Underground, proved. He’s also he’s battled his dad, as the sibling lawsuit and the more recent Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) custody issue underscores. But this effort is completely different.

Nick wants the mission of Dark Horse to fulfill what Newman Enterprises’ original intent was. Having Jack as a solid ally establishes what will likely be a dynamic arc.
