The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack and Billy Battle – Control of Jabot Questioned

Jack (Peter Bergman) ran away from Genoa City on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He crashed his car, ordered drugs for the physical and emotional pain he’s suffering, threw his sponsor and friend Neil (Kristoff St. John) out of the cabin and then dreamt that Victor (Eric Braeden) is his father. So, is it a surprise that upon returning to Jabot Jack battles Billy (Jason Thompson) for control? No.

Billy hardly grabbed power when Jack flew off the handle for the umpteenth time in Y&R history. In fact, little brother honestly refused to take the reigns. Then, after being coerced into becoming Jabot’s Chief Executive Officer, Billy wanted his first executive action to involve striking the blood Abbott clause.

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) was adamant. She didn’t want the clause removed and also advised that the CEO couldn’t do that by edict alone anyhow. The consensus opinion of those who were gathered at Jabot for an emergency meeting was that Billy was the right guy to head the family company and not just because he’s believed to be John’s (Jerry Douglas) bloodline, son.

Looming in the distance was the ever-erratic Jack Abbott. He’s convinced that John isn’t his father. That belief is based on circumstantial, non-direct genetic evidence.

Everyone assumes that Traci (Beth Maitland) and Billy are John’s biological children. But it’s now become fair to ask if they are?

Jack isn’t questioning the test result Ashley, or the one he paid for himself. He thinks he’s not an Abbott and therefore has understandably spun out of control, while also doing that literally with his car near the Abbott cabin.

Yes, Dina (Marla Adams) has stated that Jack isn’t John’s boy. But her medical condition and other factors challenge said recollection.

Despite knowing that he himself seemingly doesn’t meet the Jabot bylaws’ criteria, Jack will openly challenge Billy’s ability to head the family company. Billy will tolerate his brother, until Jack pushes matters too far, as he often does.
