The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Dina's Return Alters Jabot Dynamic – Jack and Ashley Regain Common Ground

Jack (Peter Bergman) went to get mother on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Dina’s (Marla Adams) bolt from a nurse set her son and daughter, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) into a panic. Thankfully a kind soul in England saw Madame Mergeron on a park bench and took her to safety.

Abby (Melissa Ordway) took responsibility for her grandmother in Paris. She was able to handle matters for awhile, but Abby’s pending return will blend with Dina’s, as both ladies return to Genoa City. The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Dina's Return Alters Jabot Dynamic – Jack and Ashley Regain Common GroundThe arc that transformed a secondary, mid-1980’s character (Dina) into a meaningful, later-life persona was, quite simply, incredible. Adams deserves at least a Daytime Emmy nod (if not the award itself) for her work to-date.

An extended Alzheimer’s storyline represents new ground for Y&R. The challenges in this instance involve creating believable work for Adams to present to the audience. Based on her initial stint, that began last year, soap opera fans are surely encouraged to see what happens next.

While Dina has been gone, Ashley went to work for Victor (Eric Braeden). That led Jack to form an unholy alliance with Vickie (Amelia Heinle), where ‘Ash’ was set up to look like she’d committed corporate espionage against Newman Enterprises.

J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) relatively easy access to paper proof, that was in Jack’s fingerprint accessible office drawer, was more suspicious than the duplicity that appears to have been proven. Viewers must believe that after some time for reflection, J.T. and Victor will both reach that conclusion. Vickie will face both men’s wrath when that happens.

With however the Abbott sibling battle plays out, it seems certain that Jack and Ashley will find common personal ground. Dina’s condition will again make living with her an ongoing challenge, to put it mildly.

At some point, seemingly soon, the Abbott’s will need to arrange for Dina to have permanent care. That could come in the form of a full staff living with her at the family home, or in a specialized facility.
