The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Ashley Intrigued By Offer – Niktor Shrewdly Works Together

Having Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) suggest the position at Newman Enterprises to Ashley (Eileen Davidson) on ‘The Young and the Restless’ was a master stroke of genius. Yes, Victor (Eric Braeden) was playing three-dimensional chess again.

Tony Kingsman (Michael Masini) served as Ashley’s lawyer in Jabot’s binding arbitration case that Jack (Peter Bergman) won. However, that potentially new romantic couple quickly struck back, as ‘Atone’ or ‘Tashley’ if one prefers set a new professional direction.

Ashley was interested in starting her own cosmetics company; one that would be in direct competition with Jabot. So, she pitched her idea to Devon (Bryton James). His Hamilton-Winters group limits investment to selective groups, as Ashley was aware of. Devon didn’t accept, or reject the idea, which created an opening for Newman Enterprises’ Chief Executive Officer to wiggle through.

Barrister Kingsman was later addressed by Victor, who’d overseen him and Ashley meeting with Devon in the Genoa City Athletic Club dining room. Tony acknowledged that Ashley had left Jabot, which gave the ‘Moustache’ an idea. He called Nikki and suggested a plan.

‘Niktor’s’ ease in working together reaffirmed just how effective Nikki and Victor are as a couple. One benefit of their recent reunion may well prove to be the business offer Nikki appeared to develop while she, Victor and Ashley had lunch at the Top of the Tower.

Nikki appeared to talk her way into the idea of Ashley working at Newman Enterprises as the trio’s meal proceeded. Victor chimed in, suggesting that Ashley could become Newman’s Chief Innovative Officer. That executive level position would answer only to him, thus enabling Ashley to access Newman’s vast resources for her hoped-for cosmetics plan. Plus, she would enter the company in a position of legitimate power.

Ashley is brilliant. So she’s likely already determined that Victor concocted the offer, but may not care. Accepting it would allow her to pursue the independence she’s been seeking and stick it to Jack, which, in this instance, aligns her with Victor. That’s exactly what the ‘Black Knight’ surmised when he, not Nikki, thought of this plan.
