The Young and the Restless (YR) RUMOR: Jack’s Father Was Dina’s Classmate – Y&R History Rewritten

The Young and the Restless (YR) RUMOR: Jack's Father Was Dina's Classmate – Y&R History RewrittenJack (Peter Bergman) was named after his apparent father, John (Jerry Douglas) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But Dina’s (Marla Adams) latest memory nugget rips Y&R’s history apart. Can it be possible that Jack is actually Neil Fenmore’s (Jim Storm, who also played Bill Spencer, Sr. on The Bold and The Beautiful and Gerard Stiles on Dark Shadows, among other daytime and nighttime characters) son and therefore Jill (Jess Walton) and Lauren’s (Tracey Bregman) brother? However, there’s a problem with that guess as will be shown.

As with speculative features, current dialogue and plausible Genoa City history is being mined to create possibilities. Fans know what Dina has said about the man she’s recently referenced.

Y&R history also shows that Dina went to high school with John, Gary Reynolds (never seen on screen, the father of Brock Reynolds, Beau Kazer), Stuart Brooks (one of Y&R’s original patriarch’s, as played by Robert Colbert, whose two daughters, Leslie, Janice Lynde and Lorie, Jamie Lyn Bauer just were seen during the show’s forty-fifth anniversary celebration week) and Neil. She was also classmates with a handful of female characters, including Katherine (Jeanne Cooper), Joanna (Lauren’s mother, as played by Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Suzanne (Ellen Weston). She was Derek Thurston’s ex-wife (portrayed by Joe LaDue, Caleb Stoddard and Jeff Cooper.) Derek later married Jill (then played by Brenda Dickson).

One of Dina’s various male classmates could prove to be Jack’s biological father. It would be very intriguing if Neil proves to be that man, but an adjustment would also have to be made.

Making Jack a Fenmore would obviously position him in a power struggle with his half-sisters, Jill and Lauren, for Fenmore’s. As Y&R fans recall, Jabot and Fenmore’s formed a partnership last year. But Lauren skillfully retained fifty-one percent control. Would the proposed three Fenmore siblings divvy up their family company in three equal parts?

The issue of Jack and Jill’s involvement in year’s past is a problem, however. So possibly she isn’t Neil Fenmore’s daughter as was previously revealed. Axing Jill as a Fenmore would cut her out of the company, while Jack gained her shares.

So stronger speculation should turn to one of the other men Dina knew during a time before Y&R was even on the air. Gary gave control of his estate to Katherine. If Jack is his son, Jill could lose half of the Chancellor Estate in a legal battle.

Stuart would be an interesting choice. As previously noted, his daughter characters were just revived for Y&R’s anniversary celebration. That may prove to have been a foreshadowing.

Derek is an option as well. He owned the salon where Jill was working as a manicurist. That’s how she and Katherine met. But Derek isn’t as well-known of a character and has no other current, known ties.

Yes, this is good soapy puzzle viewers have been asked to solve. Jack and his observers are primed to learn the solution soon.
