The Young and the Restless Thursday, May 24: Billy’s Power Trip – Ashley Has An Agenda – Tessa Refuses Kyle

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Thursday, May 24, tease that Billy’s (Jason Thompson) confidence will grow. At Jabot, Billy puts off reading Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) business plan and turns his attention to Kyle (Michael Mealor). He thinks it’s commendable that Kyle’s backing up his dad, but warns Jack (Peter Bergman) is in no condition to run the company right now.

Kyle accepts orders to renegotiate the deal Jack made with Hamilton-Winters and heads out. Meanwhile, Ashley tells her troubles to Neil (Kristoff St. John). Now that Billy’s so enthusiastic about the CEO spot, Ash is getting worried. She wants to get rid of the blood-Abbott clause and put the proper choice on the throne.

Neil wonders if Ashley is angling for the CEO position herself, but she stops short of confessing that. Later, Kyle talks to Neil about the terms of Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) agreement with Jabot. He also meets Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and invites himself to join her night out with Mariah (Camryn Grimes).

Kyle, Mariah and Tessa all plan to catch a movie, but Mariah has to bail at the last second. When Kyle suggests going with Tessa anyway, she isn’t on board with the idea. At Sharon’s (Sharon Case) place, she remains concerned about Nick (Joshua Morrow) potentially rejoining Newman. Mariah (Camryn Grimes) can see this from both angles, but Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) is on Sharon’s side.

Nick calls Phyllis over for a chat and explains the situation. She feels like Nick’s nuts for getting mixed up with Victor (Eric Braeden) again. Sharon appears and thank Phyllis for her support. When Phyllis gets updates on the “Shick” reunion, she decides to leave the topic alone. Sharon and Nick are reflecting on Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) death today, so Phyllis doesn’t want to add to the drama.

Afterward, Nick looks at a pic of Cassie in the stables. Sharon follows him and insists she can accept whatever he chooses. They end up sharing a slow dance at Crimson Lights before Nick makes his decision. He knows Sharon doesn’t approve, but he feels returning to Newman is the right call.

Back at Jabot, Ashley’s annoyed when she realizes Billy and Phyllis locked the door for sex. She brings up her business plan again, but Billy once again suggests he’ll deal with it later. Once Ashley exits, Billy throws the file she provided in the garbage can. It’s clear that it’s his way or the highway now!
