The Young and the Restless RECAP Wednesday, July 4: Cane Fights For Chancellor, Billy And Phyllis Trapped

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Wednesday, July 4, 2018, reveals that at the Dive Bar, The GC Buzz Special for the Fourth Of July gets started.

Hilary Loses Her Special Guest

Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) promises everyone a special guest, but that guest, which is the mayor, cancels. Hilary says she will improvise.

On the other side of the bar, Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) and Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) discuss Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) decision to go ahead with the lawsuit. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) joins them. Hilary comes over and wants them all to be on her show. Lily is first to be interviewed and shares what the fourth means to her.

Hilary Snaps at Shauna

On break, Cane hugs Lily. Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander) whispers to his sister “Now how are we going to tell her?” Abby goes on air next. Then Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie take their turns. Hilary cuts to break and snaps at Shauna Nelson (Camryn Hamm) for the second time so Lily jumps in and suggests that Shauna be able to have fun with the other teens.

Hilary gives her the rest of the day off. Lily and Cane realize something is up with their kids who say they were invited to a party. The twins leave. Cane takes his turn on the show.

Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) shows up and rants that if Jack Abbott digs up Phillip Chancellor’s grave Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) will roll over in hers. Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) goes on the show next but is distracted by a text.

Billy and Phyllis Make Yacht Plans

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) prepare for the Fourth over at the apartment. Billy tells her he has plans for them on the yacht but they’ll have to stop by the office to get the keys. As they leave they debate on having hot dogs or lobster.

Billy and Phyllis Trapped In An Elevator

At Jabot, There is a mess in the reception area made by Arturo Rosales’s (Jason Canela) crew. Billy Abbott and Phyllis Summers grab the yacht keys and jump back in the elevator. Arturo shows up and tells his crew to cut the power to the building.

The elevator comes to a dead stop. Billy is not happy. Abby Newman comes with a bag of food and Fourth of July decorations to surprise Arturo. They chat about hoping to have a future together and kiss. Arturo tells Abby he will meet up with her later for fireworks. Back in the elevator, Billy talks Phyllis out of climbing out.

Phyllis points out he gave everyone off and they could be stuck until Monday. They unpack their bags and get comfortable. One thing leads to another and they have sex. Phyllis tells Billy “Happy Birthday!” The door opens up and Arturo and his crew is shocked by what they see. Billy tells them Happy Birthday to me.

Tessa Replaces Hilary’s Special Guest

Hilary Curtis goes on with her show at the Dive bar. She tells what the holiday means to her. Tessa Porter then informs her the mayor is not coming for sure. Across the room, Esther Valentine tells Cane that Jack Abbott always finds a way to get what he wants.

Hilary doesn’t have another guest so she asks Tessa to sing. She sings the Star Spangled Banner. Mattie Ashby, Charlie Ashby, Arturo Rosales, Billy Abbott, Phyllis Summers, and Shauna Nelson arrive in time to join. As it gets dark everyone has a good time on the dance floor.

Arturo and Abby Newman leave. Shauna tells Hilary she made the American dream possible for her. Charlie and Mattie tell their parents they returned to be with them. The fireworks start.
