The Young and the Restless RECAP Tuesday, June 5: Abby Attacks Arturo, Victor Drops A Bomb

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Tuesday, June 5, 2018 reveals that Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) snaps at her daughter Summer Newman (Hunter King) since she was not expecting her.

Summer is Welcomed Home

Despite her shock, Phyllis welcomes her home. Summer reveals that she came from Atlanta and says she is going out. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) goes and carries her luggage and while there he notices the sports car she is in.

Sharon Agrees to Move with Nick

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, she and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) chat about the situation with his father. Nick tells Sharon that he loves her and wants to build a life with her and the kids.

Sharon then agrees to move to San Diego with him, but they worry about how Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) is going to handle it. Nick gets a text from Phyllis Summers to come over that she has a surprise for him.

Kyle and Mariah Talk About His Accident

Over at Crimson Lights, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) jokes with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) telling her she is hanging out with an internet sensation. Mariah points out that everyone is saying Kyle dropped his trunks on purpose and he replies that would be marketing genius.

Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) shows up and invites them to Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) Hot Summer Nights event at the Dive Bar. Mariah says she has to work early in the morning. After Tessa leaves Kyle talks Mariah into going and says he will be her wingman.

Abby Confronts Arturo

At the Athletic Club, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) confronts Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) about being with her step-mother. Arturo insists he and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) didn’t really have a relationship. He then tells her to meet him at Devon Hamilton’s event if she is the woman he thought she was.

Kyle Stops Mariah From Leaving

At the Dive Bar, Arturo Rosales arrives and chats with Tessa Porter. Mariah Copeland and Kyle Abbott arrive next. Mariah tries to leave but Kyle stops her. Tessa learns that Nick Newman and Sharon McAvoy are leaving town and knows Mariah must be upset by it.

Summer Notices Kyle and Hugs Him

Kyle suggests that she take in a talented good looking roommate after they leave. Mariah wasn’t aware he wanted to leave the Abbott mansion. They hear Summer Newman in the DJ booth and Mariah says she needs to go back from where she came from. Kyle and Summer share an intense look.

She comes up and hugs him but he excuses himself. Later, Kyle informs Summer that he is over her and Mariah jumps in the conversation and says no one ever noticed you were gone snowflake. They all watch as Summer flirts with Arturo and after he reveals the person his meeting was a no-show, she pulls him on the dance floor hoping to get a rise out of Kyle, but he is too busy focusing on Mariah.

Abby arrives and is not happy when she sees Summer and Arturo. She goes over and offers congrats for him hitting the Newman trifecta then dumps ice water on him. A police officer arrives asking for the driver of the sports car. Then places Summer under arrest for felony auto theft.

Nick is Glad Summer is Back

Nick Newman and Sharon McAvoy show up to see what the surprise is that Phyllis Summers has. Phyllis informs them that Summer Newman showed up. Then she tells them that she got all dressed up and went out.

Nick is happy that she is back. Phyllis learns Nick and Sharon are moving and says that can’t happen since Summer just came home. Phyllis says Summer was vague about what she has been doing since she was away.

Phyllis and Sharon go to the kitchen and she tells Sharon not to get any ideas about spilling the beans to Nick. After they are gone, Billy Abbott and Phyllis chat about Nick’s reasons for moving. They head up to the bedroom.

Victor Sues Nick

Back over at Sharon McAvoy’s place, Nick Newman wonders why Phyllis Summers had an issue with them moving. Sharon thinks she expects him to be there for Summer Newman. They talk about their move and the doorbell rings.

Victor is there and serves Nick with an injunction preventing him from taking Christian out of the state and that he is suing him for full custody. And that’s a wrap. Don’t forget to check often with Soap Opera Spy for all your soap needs.
