General Hospital Spoilers: Is Genie Francis Making a Comeback – Laura Back To GH?

Fans were shocked to learn earlier this year that longtime favorite Genie Francis (Laura Spencer Collins) was demoted from full-time to a recurring character. After all, Laura Spencer is one of the soap’s biggest icons. But now it looks like we might be seeing Laura back in Port Charles very soon as new reports indicate that she might be making a comeback.

According to ABC Soaps in Depth, executive producer Frank Valentini must have heard the cries of fans who were utterly shocked and disappointed to find out that they wouldn’t be seeing Genie Francis in front of the cameras anymore. It didn’t take him very long to call Genie and have dinner to discuss her future on the soap.

Genie also made it pretty clear that Frank is not to blame for her getting let go from the soap. She defended him on Twitter by writing; “It’s been painful for me to see Frank receive so much of the blame for the decision to take me off contract. No one fought harder to reestablish Laura on General Hospital. He has always been my champion, and I don’t believe he took any pleasure in seeing Laura diminished.”

Genie’s tweets come right after the news that writers are working on a “prolific, big story for Laura that deserves the many talents of Genie Francis.” So does this mean that we will be seeing Laura sooner rather than later? Quite possibly so, as she might be coming back to Port Charles from her short stint in Europe very soon. Fans will need to stay tuned!
