Days of Our Lives RECAP Tuesday, July 24: Chad Walks Out On Abby

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for Tuesday, July 24, 2018 reveals, Steve (Stephen Nichols) wakes up from surgery. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) tells Steve the surgery went well. Kayla removes the patch and asks how it feels.

Steve Tells Tripp To Hang In There

Steve says he can’t see anything at all. Steve’s optic nerve is still healing. It could take 24 hours for Steve’s sight to return. Tripp (Lucas Adams) comes in with fries. Steve wants to know what is wrong with Tripp. Tripp tells Steve it’s Ciara (Victoria Konefal). Tripp tells Steve about Ciara’s reaction to him insulting Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). Steve tells Tripp Ciara is stubborn like Bo (Peter Reckell) was. Steve advises Tripp to let Ciara know he’s there when she needs him. Steve tells Tripp that Kayla has been his anchor for years. Steve says Tripp could be Ciara’s anchor as well. Steve asks Kayla if the technician had any good news. Kayla check again, Steve still can’t see. Kayla puts Steve’s patch back on to promote healing. Kayla lays in bed with him so the first thing he sees is her.

Claire Wants Kayla’s Advice

Days of Our Lives’ Tripp is waiting to see Steve. Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) joins Tripp and tells him about Ciara’s visit. Claire tells Tripp that Ciara acts like Ben is her hero. Tripp says he can’t talk to Ciara because she’s still mad at him. Claire tells Tripp her theory about Ciara. Claire asks Kayla about Steve. Kayla asks Claire what’s wrong. Claire asks if Kayla has ever been into a guy that didn’t want her. Kayla tells Claire about David and assures her there is hope for her. Claire tells Tripp Ciara is coming back to the loft. Tripp thanks Claire and heads back to the loft. Claire offers to hang out at the hospital and give Tripp some alone time.

Ben Is Released

Days of Our Live’s Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Rafe (Galin Gering) try to push Ben into a confession. Ted (Gilles Marini) shows up to represent Ben. Hope and Rafe are shocked that Ciara hired Ted. Hope wants to know how Ciara hired the attorney. Ciara tells Hope she used her own money to pay for it. Hope tries to tell Ciara that Ben lied to her. The fire was suspicious, there is no definite cause. Ciara wants to know why Ben didn’t tell her. Ted suggests Ben was framed.

Ted accuses Hope and Rafe of framing Ben herself. Rafe tells Ted accusations against the commissioner aren’t taken lightly. Hope tells Ted Ben set a fire in that cabin before. Hope plans to make sure Trask (Laura Kai Chen) doesn’t release Ben. Ben asks Ciara if she still believes him. Ciara tells Rafe that Ben saved her. Ciara wants to know why Ben would try to kill her. Ciara knows she got through to Ben. Ciara tells Rafe she and Ben talked about a lot of things. Ciara says after a while she saw Ben as a friend. Ted tells Rafe that Ben is free to go. Hope warns Ben not to get too comfortable. Ben thanks Ciara, she knows he would never lie to her.

Stefan Is Onto Gabi

Days of Our Lives’ Gabi (Camille Banus) shows up at the mansion with papers for Stefan (Tyler Christopher). Stefan left so fast he forgot to sign the Gabi Chic papers. Stefan tells Gabi that Abby (Marci Miller) is keeping the baby. Gabi tells Stefan he needs to investigate Stefano (Joe Mascolo) and be the opposite type of parent. Stefan knows Gabi didn’t mix up the papers.

Gabi tells Stefan it was obviously a mix-up. Stefan tells Gabi she wants to hurt Abby. Stefan tells Gabi she wanted revenge because Abby hurt her. Gabi lies and defends Abby. Gabi tells Stefan he is to blame, not Abby. Gabi asks Stefan if he discussed custody with Abby. Gabi wants to know if Stefan wants Abby. Stefan is only interested in Abby because of the baby. Gabi tells Stefan not to add to Abby’s misery. Stefan knows Gabi is playing Abby.

Abby Tells Chad About The Baby

Days of Our Lives’ Abby tells Chad (Billy Flynn) she’s pregnant. Chad is thrilled about the baby, Abby isn’t. Abby tells Chad the baby is Stefan’s. Chad tells Abby that baby could be his. Abby shows Chad the paternity test results and apologizes. Abby tells Chad she wishes she hadn’t got the paternity test. Abby tells Chad she was dong to have an abortion. Chad asks why Abby didn’t. Abby tells Chad she spoke to Stefan. Chad tells Abby the alters are an excuse.

Chad asks Abby if she’s in love with Stefan. Chad asks Abby if she talked custody with Stefan. Abby tells Chad he will be the baby’s father in every way that counts. Chad tells Abby she has no idea how hard this is for him. Abby is visibly upset. Abby tells Chad she knows she is asking a lot of him. Abby knows she is being unfair but she wants to work this out. Abby tells Chad she loves him. Chad wishes he could tall Abby everything will be ok. Chad cannot tell Abby everything will be ok this time and leaves.
