The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Graham’s Actions Push Dina and Ashley Together – Abbott Family Strengthened

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Graham's Actions Push Dina and Ashley Together – Abbott Family StrengthenedThey were estranged for many years on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Dina (Marla Adams) face a common enemy now. Yes, it’s Graham (Max Shippee) and his vicious actions will serve to create a deep bond between mother and daughter.

So Jack (Peter Bergman) planned two classy thank you scenes. He saluted his sister with a heartfelt toast in his office and also orchestrated a dinner at the Top of the Tower. Graham was excluded, along with Billy (Jason Thompson), from attending the initial work-related event.

Traci (Beth Maitland) was invited to the toast because she’s not a trouble-maker. Plus the writers needed her to setup a crucial plot point that happened next.

The exchange Traci had with Ashley before they went into Jack’s office referenced a high school yearbook photo. That old image was of Graham Davis, a student who attended Walnut Grove Academy decades ago. At some point in the past he adjusted his last name to Bloodworth. Traci later showed the photo to Ashley at the Abbott house.

Graham is following his mother’s orders and has been for awhile. Myrna (Marcia Rodd) recently revealed that, in her opinion, Dina destroyed their family. Due to that perception, Graham’s been on a covert mission to expose Dina’s treachery.

Brent Davis (Bert Kramer) is Graham’s dad and was Myrna’s ill-fated husband. Dina was interested in the then tennis pro in the 1960’s, when this invented backstory is to have taken place. Brent was revealed as being Ashley’s biological father over 30 years ago, as hardcore Y&R viewers recall.

As this battle between seeming half-siblings plays out, the apparent end of a lengthy arc feels imminent. Some viewers may wonder if the storyline was worth it, while others are content to have taken a soapy ride.

It will be a shame if Graham proves to be a recurring character, as Shippee has been a solid addition to the cast. It would seem improbable that Mr. Davis could remain in Genoa City past this point, but this is daytime so nothing is ever certain.
