The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Cane Shifts Focus – Juliet and Second Son Spotlighted

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Cane Shifts Focus – Juliet and Second Son SpotlightedCane (Daniel Goddard) finally relented on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He gave in to Lily’s (Christel Khalil) request for a divorce after months of trying to keep his marriage and first family together. Now, Juliet (Laur Allen) and his second son will be spotlighted.

While Cane still loves Lily, he recognizes that trust was broken and they no longer have chemistry. He didn’t want to leave the SORAS’d twins, but had to based upon his wife’s request.

Lily’s decision certainly can’t be considered rash. She gave Cane enormous benefit of the doubt after learning that Juliet was pregnant with his child. Lily believed her husband’s story, which proved true, that he didn’t act intentionally during the Brash and Sassy business trip to Tokyo, Japan.

However, the blackmail trap that Cane fell into, which resulted due to his petty actions against Billy (Jason Thompson) in Los Angeles, proved to be too much. Misappropriating Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie’s (Noah Alexander Gerry) school tuition fund affirmed that Cane was a danger to his family and to himself.

At some point along this pitted path, Cane saw how ugly his various actions were. He’s taken responsibility, finally. He’s likely to maintain a bond with the twins that should strengthen as time passes. Hopefully, he and Lily will be able to co-parent skillfully as well.

The job Jill (Jess Walton) gave him, as acting CEO at Chancellor, stabilizes his work life. Personally, Juliet’s potentially tenuous health situation means that Cane must make her and their baby his main focus.

It’s understandable that ‘Lane’ fans were devastated by the end of this likeable couple. Lily and Cane had overcome so much through the years, even remarrying in the recent past.

Soap operas have long been partial reflections of life. Some couples endure, some don’t. Each situation reflects the different strengths of each character, whether on TV, or in real life. With that take in mind it will be interesting to see how ‘Jane’, or ‘Culiet’ if one prefers, develops. The actions of both halves could prove to reflect past patterns, or not.
