The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Billy Lacks Impulse Control – Phyllis Catches Her Man

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) has rarely been cautious on ‘The Young and the Restless’. His latest lack of impulse control resulted in Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) confirming Jack’s (Peter Bergman) news-drop. Yes, Billy was using her computer to steal Jabot’s secrets.

Phyllis didn’t want to believe that the man she currently believes she loves stole Dina’s (Marla Adams) password and targeted the laptop she often uses at home. But after intentionally leaving her portable piece of technology open, Billy dove right in. She wasn’t totally stunned, but was disappointed.

Jack’s words have sounded more like a harangue than truth. Phyllis understandably believed that Billy’s brother and her ex-husband was simply bitter. Jack couldn’t have been pushing wisdom when he repeatedly warned her to beware of Billy since ‘Phack’ split. Instead, the elder Abbott was simply a jealous trouble-maker. That’s how Phyllis rationalized Jack’s word and subsequently allowed Billy to make her look foolish by violating her trust.

No one could honestly blame Jack after ‘Phack’ was supplanted by ‘Philly’. Jack was hurt. But now Phyllis has learned that, along with Jack’s emotions, he was also right.

Everyone, including Jack, has seemingly told Phyllis that Vickie (Amelia Heinle) has remained Billy’s true love. And who has been encouraging Billy to commit espionage? Why yes, it’s Miss Victoria Newman. Well, she’s Miss for now, but soon could be Mrs. Billy Abbott again, or so she hopes.

Phyllis must play a smart game from here on out. Jack’s parting words, as Phyllis stomped out of his executive suite, was to join with him and help the Jabot team win.

Realizing that Billy isn’t actually on ‘Team Philly’, Phyllis has a choice to make. She can form a false front, while gathering evidence that can be used to protect Jabot and possibly, send Billy to prison, or she can confront him, which would create a potential escape hatch.

Either option in the preceding paragraph would likely end with Billy paying some type of consequence, as Brash and Sassy is stopped. As for ‘Philly’, this couple seems to be nearing the end that Jack predicted from the start.
