The Young and the Restless (YR) RUMOR: Dina To Be Written Out – Stabbing Establishes Exit Possibilities

The Young and the Restless (YR) RUMOR: Dina To Be Written Out – Stabbing Establishes Exit PossibilitiesThe Dina (Marla Adams) character appears to be moving toward a write-out on The Young and the Restless’ Setting fire to The Underground, stealing items from restaurants and stabbing Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) don’t reflect the actions of a stable personality. That’s why Jack (Peter Bergman), Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Traci (Beth Maitland) must make a decision about their mother before it’s too late.

Among secondary characters, Madame Mergeron ranks with those who are unliked by a segment of the fans. While Adams is a solid actor, her alter ego appeared, from the beginning, to have been brought back for a limited run.

It was interesting to see a character who first appeared in the mid-1980’s and only sporadically thereafter, return to Y&R. Seasoned viewers knew that meant a revisiting and lengthening of the Abbott family’s backstory. Excellent invented scenes then featured alternative actors portraying younger versions of this legendary clan at critical points in the past.

After the issue involving Brent Davis (Bert Kramer) was thoroughly addressed, there only appears to be one final present-day plot point to dot. Graham’s (Max Shippee) return to Genoa City sets up a showdown, or reveal. Either he’ll be finished off in some way, or written in as some type of biologically connection himself.

The recent blowout at the Top of the Tower was followed by Dina’s stroke and subsequent take away to Florida. Graham then oddly didn’t resist Jack’s move to take his mother back to Genoa City. The ominous well wishes Shippee’s character offered have been followed by a series of reckless actions on Dina’s part. Graham knew those were coming based on his awareness of her condition and actions in the Sunshine State.

As for Dina, it’s always possible that Y&R could address the mental capacity issues and allow her to remain on the show. It’s also reasonable to believe that she’ll be written out after Jack, Ashley, and Traci face a choice that many viewers have in their real lives.
