The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Victor Acting Suspicious – Goal Is To Have Billy Arrested For Espionage?

Victor (Eric Braeden) has never liked Billy (Jason Thompson) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The ‘Moustache’s’ odd request to his former son-in-law for help feels like a setup. Is this a coy ploy to actually have Billy arrested?

The ‘Black Knight’ claims that he needs Billy’s unique assistance. Victor feels that Billy can convince Vickie (Amelia Heinle) to trust him (Victor) again. If Billy advocates for Victor, Vickie will come to believe her father is okay, basically.

Longtime Y&R fans recall what happened on Vickie and Billy’s (then played by Billy Miller) initial wedding day. A brief rehash of soap history reveals that Victor had his pregnant daughter arrested in order to prevent her from marrying Billy. That ploy didn’t stop ‘Villy’ from forming.

This time Victor may be trying another tactic. He’s playing off the recognition that Vickie does love Billy. But his actual goal may be to have Billy arrested for committing espionage, thereby removing him from Vickie’s world, or so Victor thinks.

Katie (Sienna Mercuri) and Johnny (Holden and Ryan Hare), Billy’s son through Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), bind them. Johnny, who Vickie adopted, came into existence because Victor paid Chelsea to trap Billy. That was another attempt to keep Jack’s (Peter Bergman) brother from Vickie.

Skipping to 2017, Billy became overzealous. He impulsively committed espionage against Jabot in order to help Brash and Sassy gain what is believed to be a competitive advantage. Vickie actually supported his efforts as part of her plan to win back her soul mate.

Billy never stopped loving Vickie. But he formalized a relationship with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) when she told him that they would never be together again. Vickie later said that she didn’t mean what she said and has since been playing a waiting game to try and get Billy back.

Vickie’s approach to Billy’s acts of espionage is partially based on her belief that she can split ‘Philly’. Rather than stand as a voice of reason, Vickie’s throw in with Billy’s scheme and acknowledgment to her father about the matter has put her multiple-time husband in jeopardy.

Victor obviously can’t be trusted, which makes his request to Billy very suspicious.
