The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Cane Plays Nerd Again – Personal and Business Life Undermined By Attitude

Cane (Daniel Goddard) recently dipped his toe into nerd territory four separate times on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He didn’t want Lily (Christel Khalil) to return to the modeling world and then became jealous of Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) for no good reason. But Cane’s nerdiness has also been evidenced in business as well.

No one whined louder than Cane after Vickie (Amelia Heinle) bought Brash and Sassy. Yes, he and Billy (Jason Thompson) were offered the opportunity to buy equal one-third shares, along with Victoria. But Jill (Jess Walton) got a better offer and took it. Plus, viewers haven’t forgotten that Cane’s own liquidity wasn’t deep enough to cover the price Jill wanted for the cosmetics company.

Juliet (Laur Allen) recently joined Brash and Sassy as a consultant. Her job was to accompany Cane to Japan, where they met with a high profile client. The business meeting was an attempt to secure his business as an exclusive distributor of their products.

Mr. Sato (Richard Narita) initially balked at Cane’s proposal because he didn’t like the focus Brash and Sassy was emphasizing on its men’s cosmetic products. However, Cane appeared to have bridged the discussed generation gap by stressing a “Happy Wife, Happy Life” pitch. Sato agreed to the deal then, for some unknown reason, he received a “bro-hug” from Cane, as Juliet lamented.

Counting four instances of nerdy behavior, where Cane’s personal and business lives were undermined is rather incredible. And some other points could be referenced as well. While he’s faced personal issues through the years, this is the first time where a barrage of dufus activities have been exhibited in such a short timespan. Pull it together man!

Purely as an aside to the audience, Goddard himself remains one of the coolest cats (old-school reference for tenured fans) on Y&R. A true gentleman, whose social media outreach is generous and genuine. And, as all viewers know he’s consistently generated solid performances on the set since first joining the cast in 2007.
