The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Dina's Decision to Stay Is Right – Redemption Possibility Increases Exponentially

Dina (Marla Adams) likely wants to protect her children on ‘The Young and the Restless’. From their perspective and from her granddaughter Abby’s (Melissa Ordway), Dina’s mysterious desire to return to France didn’t make sense. But Madame Mergeron’s decision to remain in Genoa City means that old emotional sores can be more directly addressed and possibly, healed.

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) isn’t nearly as open to Dina as Jack (Peter Bergman) is. His memories blend pain with pleasant experiences, while Ashley is often only able to relive betrayal. Perspective differences have been and will remain key to this intriguing storyline that Y&R surprisingly revived.

Whenever one parent abandons parental responsibilities scars are likely to exist. That’s the flaw in the me-first logic that irresponsible influencers push on society. Attempting to find oneself, dancing to the beat of one’s own drummer and various other cliches are covers for self-involved pursuits.

Dina chose to have two children with John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) decades ago. She also chose to have another child, Ashley, from another man. Those choices brought responsibilities that Dina didn’t want to uphold.

It’s not that she couldn’t abide by a moral code. No, she chose not to and that’s the basis of the self-centered philosophy that has seemingly always existed, exists and likely always will exist within the human world.

However, when someone (meaning this scribe) chooses to critique other’s lives then he must also be open to those same souls attempts at redemption. This scribe and all others should support those efforts without hesitation.

Adams’ character seems very sincere. She also appears to be in a declining mental state, which could indicate the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, or some other related health issue.

And, before Graham (Max Shippee) is tagged as a manipulator, let’s give him a chance to prove us wrong. Possibly he’s looking out for Dina, as he’s said. Hopefully that’s true and with whatever happens, here’s hoping for a full Abbott reconciliation this summer.
