The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Chelsea Deals With Betrayal – Chloe Reveal Injects Devastation

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) welcomed Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) back into her life last year on ‘The Young and the Restless’. To do so she had to forgive her former best friend and learn to trust again. But the stunning reveal that has taken place injected devastation into Chelsea’s heart.

Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) presence makes all of this bearable. He’s been a rock as of late, with ‘Chick’s’ personal relationship developing quite nicely as a result.

Despite that point, it’s understandable that Chelsea rejected Nick’s suspicion and the evidence he provided about Chloe’s guilt. However, Chelsea told Kevin (Greg Rikaart) after his wedding ceremony fell apart that she had been rationalizing everything just as he was doing on that ill-fated day at the Chancellor mansion.

Chloe was living a double life. She believed that accepting Victor’s (Eric Braeden) offer to return to Genoa City would allow justice to be applied.

The frame they exacted led to Adam’s (Justin Hartley) arrest and conviction based on bogus evidence Chloe planted. However, her refusal to abide by Victor’s full wishes left Adam in prison to rot for up to 30 years and that wasn’t part of the ‘Moustache’s’ plan.

Adam’s eventual escape came through Victor’s hands. Chloe decided at that point to end the life of her nemesis once and for all. Whether she actually did that remains up for debate, as this is the soap world.

So it’s surely possibly, if not certain, that Adam was either pulled from that cabin by Chloe herself, was rescued by an unknown party or that he somehow escaped on his own. Where he’s been ever since and why he wouldn’t have returned to town is intriguing.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s grief has been resurrected and her best friend, if she ever was that, is on the lamb. To think that Mrs. Newman was once a con artist and that she couldn’t see past Chloe’s front isn’t really incredible though. It’s part of the human condition, as some viewers may have experienced themselves in far less dramatic, though similarly painful personal situations.
