General Hospital Comings And Goings: Actor Chris Van Etten Joins GH - Amy's Brother Chet Heads To PC

General Hospital spoilers say that there is going to be a new face in Port Charles very soon! Actor Chris Van Etten will be playing Chet, Amy’s brother who was injured in Afghanistan. And for the handsome actor, it’s a role that will be a very familiar one for him.

If you think you’ve seen Chris before, that’s because he’s a well-known model and face on the motivational speaker circuit. And he’s also an actor that can relate to his character very well, as he was also a wounded U.S. marine.

During his tour in Afghanistan, Chris lost both of his legs and a very close friend during an explosion. He received his prosthetic legs after he was medically retired from his service in 2013. Chris also starred in Jockey’s “Show ‘Em What’s Underneath” campaign in 2016. He now plans on showing off his acting chops on the small screen with his first role on General Hospital.

“This has been an awesome opportunity for me,” the actor told Soap Opera Digest. “I feel really lucky to be a part of the show.”

And if Chris’ name rings another bell, that’s because he also has the same name as General Hospital’s co-head writer, Chris Van Etten. It might be hard to believe, but the two men share the same name and will now be working on the same soap series together. It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the crew and cast will try to keep their names straight!
