EastEnders Spoilers: Samantha Womack Didn't Want Ronnie Mitchell To Be Killed OffIs gorgeous Ronnie Mitchell set to come back from the dead on, “EastEnders?” She is if her portrayer Samantha Womack has anything to say about it! Womack, and legions of fans, were outraged when the blonde bride was killed off on what was supposed to the happiest day of her life.

Poor Ronnie, along with her sister Roxie, perished on her wedding day in a recent tragedy on the BBC One super soap.

Apparently 44-year-old Womack was just as dismayed as fans upon learning of her alter ego’s death and departure from the show in January.

“You don’t expect that after nine years,” she told the Metro newspaper. “It was a shock. I’d love her to come back but when you’ve seen a corpse in a coffin, I’m not sure how likely that is. I was so sad when they killed her.”

But, the death was doubly hard to swallow, seeing as how Ronnie’s vivacious sister Roxy (Rita Simons) also perished on the hotel rooftop. The two were cavorting around in the hours after the ceremony, and drugs likely played a part in their premature deaths.

Womack told the newspaper that she enjoyed playing opposite Simons, and has fond memories of the sisters’ early days on the show when actor Larry Lamb played their father. Simons also found the news of her departure difficult to swallow.

She’s on record as saying she’s looking forward to whatever life offers up next, but found it hard to leave behind the over 100 crew members, including costume, lighting and make-up, that she had grown close to in her 10 years on the show.

Yes, we saw Ronnie’s corpse in a coffin, but in soap land, is any death ever final? Viewers, and Womack, always have hope; maybe Ronnie has a secret twin waiting to be discovered?!
