Jack Branning has been caring for Matthew since the boy’s mom died tragically on New Year’s Eve. Ronnie and Jack had just married when a midnight romp in the hotel pool turned deadly. In an instant Ronnie and her sister Roxie were dead, Jack was widowed and bereft, and Max set into motion a series of dastardly events.

Max hates his brother Jack who has no clue about this cruel fact. EastEnders spoilers have revealed that Max brought Charlie Cotton back to Walford to fight for custody of his and Ronnie’s son in order to further twist the knife into his unsuspecting brother.

When Jack got wind of Charlie’s plan, he set out to show him who’s boss. He beat the tar out of Charlie and gold old Max made sure Jack was arrested for the fight. Now he has a record, and surely that won’t improve his chances for gaining custody, right?

Most fans believe that Ronnie would want Jack to continue raising her son. He’s a loving father and a good man. But does he stand a chance against Max and his secret machinations?

He does if Dot takes up for him! Although the matriarch was the one who set off the fight by telling Jack about Charlie’s intentions, she’s determined to set things straight. Of all people, she enlists Max to help her! The two instigators convince Jack and Charlie to resolve their issue like men, and convince them to talk it out alone.

Things don’t go so well however, and explosive show spoilers reveal that Jack is left with a drastic dilemma. Will he kidnap Matthew and leave Walford in the rear view mirror?
