Coronation Street News: Daniel Brocklebank Dating Co-Star Rob MallardOn “Coronation Street,” two onscreen co-stars have apparently found happiness together away from the ITV sudser. Daniel Brocklebank and Rob Mallard were photographed attending the British LGBT Awards 2017 last Friday, and they couldn’t have looked happier. Prior to hitting the red carpet, Rob, 25, uploaded a pic of the pair to Twitter, noting that he was attending the prestigious event with Dan, 37.




According to sources the two handsome men became friends last year and soon began dating. Rob has played Ken Barlow’s son Daniel Osbourne since November. Rob is actually the third actor to tackle the role of cranky Ken’s son.

In an interview with Gay Times in January, Rob discussed his sexuality, saying that he came out to his family eight years prior. Rob also praised his “Coronation Street,” bosses for the way his storyline and character have been portrayed.

Daniel first appeared on the popular soap in 2014. He portrays St. Mary’s Church Vicar William “Billy” Mayhew. Billy once dated Anthony Cotton’s character Sean Tully and was later involved with Todd Grimshaw, portrayed by actor Bruno Langley.

According to The Sun, set-siders could not be happier for the two actors. Apparently the couple is the life of any party and their co-stars love it when they attend social gatherings. One source said, “Daniel was instantly attracted to Rob when he joined the cast. They got on really well and quickly developed feelings for each other.” Another added that the couple hit it off immediately after meeting and instantly shared, “real chemistry.”

So, will we ever see the two share a storyline onscreen? Right now Billy is grieving the death of his former partner and dealing with the potential loss of his boyfriend. Billy has been asked to parent his ex’s young daughter, a responsibility his partner doesn’t want to share. Or maybe Adam will make a confession to Billy that he’s the one who pushed Ken down the stairs?!
