The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Shick Teased Again – Nick Offers Sharon Support

Might Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) be getting back together on ‘The Young and the Restless’? The question doesn’t ask if viewers want them to, or not. Instead, it speaks to an evolving plot development and a lingering issue that would need to be revealed before a reunion could take place.

There’s no question that Y&R has been teasing a pairing between Scott (Daniel Hall) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) for awhile. This week’s development had Scott come to Abby’s aid somewhere outside of Genoa City. He followed Zack’s (Ryan Ashton) car from Genoa City and dramatic events unfolded thereafter.

The kiss that Scott and Abby shared could be seen as an of the moment reaction. They were scared and uncertain how, or if they’d be rescued.

Meanwhile back at Crimson Lights, Sharon was worried. Paul (Doug Davidson) stopped by to tell Sharon that he wasn’t able to perform his job if she continued to constantly interrupt him.

Nick walked in later while Sharon and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) were having it out. Scott’s mom was protective of her cub and was expressing her feelings voraciously. Nick then comforted Sharon and reinforced that he would always be there for her, as a friend.

‘Shick’ was great back in the day, but it’s been more than a decade since Y&R paired Sharon and Nick as a married couple. Hardcore viewers recall that Gina Tognoni’s arrival as Phyllis earlier this decade stopped the long-awaited ‘Shick’ wedding.

There is a contingent of fans who instantly reject the idea of Sharon and Nick reuniting. Another group is open to the pairing. Then there are those who either don’t have an opinion, or don’t know the history and remain unclear about whether the revived duo would be good, or not.

Sharon would clearly be devastated if ‘Scabby’ forms. She was able to get past Dylan’s (Steve Burton) departure rather quickly. Surely the arrival of mild-mannered Scott has had a calming effect upon her.

Nick doesn’t know about Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity yet. ‘Chick’ would be over if he ever learns that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) withheld that information and also conspired with Victor (Eric Braeden) to shield him from the truth.

If Sharon and Nick end up alone it’s natural to project the possibility of their reunion. Whether ‘Shick’ would work in that future iteration is one of the reasons why fans watch the soaps.
