Weekly Soap Ratings July 18-22: 'DOOL' Up – 'B&B' Ratings Down, 'Y&R' Ratings Increase – 'GH' Ratings PlummetThe soap opera ratings for the week of July 18-22 have been posted by Soap Opera Network and ‘Days of Our Lives’ showed an increase in ratings for total viewers but took a ratings dive with women 18-49.. ‘General Hospital’ ratings plummeted for both total viewers and in the women 18-49 demographic.

‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ had an increase of total viewers but hit a new low, losing viewers in the women 18-49 demographic. ‘The Young and the Restless’ saw a ratings jump both in total viewers and women 18-49.

Days of Our Lives

Total viewers for ‘DOOL’ the week of July 18-22 reached 2,160,000, and that represents a gain of 68,000 and that is the second straight week the daytime drama has seen for total viewership. ‘DAYS’ did not fare so well with women 18-49 with 376,000 tuned in. That’s a loss of 3,000 viewers in that category over the previous week.

General Hospital

After a nice gain in ratings for the week of July 11-15 ‘GH’ had 2,521,000 total viewers for the week of July 18-22. That’s a loss of 59,000 viewers from the previous week. Women 18-49 tuned out also with 453,000 watching the soap opera. That shows loss of 3,000 viewers in that demographic.

The Bold and the Beautiful

‘B&B’  gained 25,000 total viewers with 3,627,000 watching the week of July 18-22 according to Soap Opera Network. The daytime drama reached a new low with women 18-49 and preemptions can’t be blamed for the loss of 32,000 in this category – 477,000 were watching.

The Young and the Restless

‘Y&R’ regained total viewers with 4,625,000 tuning in – that’s a gain of 194,000 viewers. The soap opera had showed a massive decline in ratings across the board the previous week due to preemptions on Tuesday, July 12. Women 18-49 came back to watch ‘The Young and the Restless’ – 606,000 tuned in which is a gain of 32,000 viewers in this demographic.

Please keep in mind – ‘Days of Our Lives’ will be preempted from Friday, August 5 through Friday, August 19 for the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. A complete schedule of events and are subject to change can be found on the Rio 2016 website.
