‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Jack Claims Feelings For Phyllis Are Dead – But Actions Prove Phack Lives

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Jack Claims Feelings For Phyllis Are Dead - But Actions Prove Phack LivesJack (Peter Bergman) is saying that he’s ended a relationship on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But, he might be subconsciously continuing it based upon his actions. By choosing to allow Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) to remain at Jabot Jack is also affording his not-yet-ex-wife an opportunity at reconciliation.

Wearing your heart on your sleeve is another way of saying that someone is an emotional thinker. Veering away from purely logical decisions, a variety of life factors makes these personality types behave as they do. In Jack’s case, the volume of times he’s been burned by women in his life are legendary. One of, if not the, strongest evidence of that point involves ‘Red’.

Phyllis (then played by Michelle Stafford) betrayed Jack’s trust ages ago, when she strayed to Nick (Joshua Morrow). ‘Phick’ produced a child, Summer (originally played as a child by Samantha Bailey, currently played as a young adult by Hunter King). It took awhile for Jack to get past that situation, but he did. Eventually ‘Phack’ reformed and remained stable until recently.

Victor’s (Eric Braeden) recruitment of a Peruvian drug lord, who was Jack’s doppelganger, proved to be the impetus that changed everything. Marco’s (Peter Bergman) arrival in Genoa City spurned the reactions that led to ‘Phack’s’ damaged marriage. Particular note of the word ‘damaged’ should be taken. For at this time Jack and Phyllis aren’t officially divorced. And, even if those legal papers are approved there’s still hope for revival.

Jack didn’t use a lawyer to challenge Phyllis’ claim that she could take half of Jabot in a disputed divorce proceeding. Instead, he relented to ‘Red’s’ request to keep her position at his family’s company as the only term of their nuptial severing. On the deepest personal level, Jack is allowing Phyllis and himself emotional wiggle room. Regardless of his words, Jack’s heart appears to have given the woman he still likely loves time to make amends. Whether Phyllis can keep Billy (Jason Thompson) at bay in the interim is another question.
