‘The Young and The Restless’ News: Jess Walton Steals Another Y&R Scene – Jill Shines In Genoa City

Jess Walton is one of the great actors who has appeared on ‘The Young and the Restless’ since the show debuted on CBS in 1973. A Top-10 list for this iconic steamer would be totally subjective. However, if one was created, Walton’s name would surely rank highly. That reality was again evidenced in recent scenes where her character, Jill Atkinson, appeared to be having a heart attack.
Jill returned to Genoa City earlier this year with multiple missions in mind. Said to have been out of town with her main squeeze, Colin (Tristan Rogers), she reappeared projecting as much zest as ever. Jill quickly lowered the boom on Billy (Jason Thompson), began working on a plan to revive ‘Villy’ and orchestrated Brash and Sassy’s acquisition. Most importantly, to many viewers, Jill restored the Chancellor mansion to it’s yellow glory after Billy splotched the interior with a gloomy blue hue that fit his ever-present mood.
Like many mothers, her agenda is clear. Jill is looking out for the best interests of her child. But, Billy has never been overly open to advice received from family, or friends. So, it’s no surprise that he’s been fighting the woman who sparked his life.
Both combatants had just returned from Adam’s (Justin Hartley) memorial service at the Top of the Tower. They were verbally jarring about Billy’s outlandish relationship with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and how that was going to affect Jack (Peter Bergman). Billy responded by revisiting his childhood, where he claims Jill showed him little love.
After repeatedly touching the upper part of her torso and breathing heavily, Jill sat down. Billy chose to believe that she was faking a heart attack. While that ploy might have been useful during one of her many battles with Katherine (Jeanne Cooper), it didn’t appear true with her son in September 2016. And, as has often been the case during a terrific tenure, Walton stole another scene with her forcefully brilliant performance.

The performance Jess Walton gave us on Friday was epic… The character Jill is such an amazing actress. She give us greatness Everytime.. so talented. Hope she is here to stay.. at the moment shes one of the sanest people on the show alongside Dylan (Steve Burton). Now he need to give us EPIC… Finding out about his sneaky wife..

Jess Walton is excellent at Jill. I miss her when she is gone for extended periods. Her performance, faking the heart attack was awesome. Jess is a multi faceted character; she can be an awful bit** or a caring sensitive woman depending on the scene. Loved her fights with Esther and Catherine.
