'General Hospital' News: Ian Buchanan Returns To 'GH' As Duke Lavery‘General Hospital’ spoilers tease that ‘GH‘ fan favorite Ian Buchanan is returning to the ABC soap opera in May 2016.  Ironically, Ian Buchanan’s return comes exactly one year after his character Duke Lavery was killed off in May 2015 – which did not go over well with ‘General Hospital’ fans.

ABC Soaps In Depth was the first to report the news.  On Wednesday May 4, ABC Soaps In Depth shared these ‘General Hospital’ spoilers, “Duke will be making an appearance in the episode slated to air Wednesday, May 11.  Unfortunately, Buchanan’s return is not the long-term stay viewers have been wishing for. However, we’re also hearing that he’ll be back again for another brief visit later in May, so stay tuned!”

The website goes on to say that Ian Buchanan’s return as Duke Lavery is being kept “hush hush,” so it is unclear in what capacity he will be returning.  Obviously, we would be thrilled if Ian Buchanan’s character was brought back from the dead – and hey that’s not unusual in Port Charles, but it looks like as of right now Ian will most likely be returning as a ghost, or possibly a flashback.  Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) has been haunted by Ian’s death for a year now – maybe chatting it up with Ghost Duke will give her some much-needed closure.

Regardless of how he is returning – we are just thrilled to have Ian Buchanan back on our TV screens!  Are you excited about Duke Lavery returning?  Let us know what you think in the comments below!

      I think it’s great he’s coming back if only for one or two episodes I figured he must be coming back as a ghost because I don’t know how they would describe his death or lack there of if he’s really alive only way I could see them spinning that is if he had a twin or Faison masqueraded as him Faison had a weird obession with Anna

      Yes, I am excited that Duke is coming back. But he should be back for good! Another couple that should stay together because of age and acquired wisdom.

      Faison had Duke locked away in prison again. Now he has got free. Please let Duke stay in Port Charles with Anna and his son.
