‘Days of Our Lives’ News: Sonny Heads Back to Salem This July – Freddie Smith Says “It’s Going to Be Amazing!”

The latest “Days of Our Lives” news reveals that Sonny (Freddie Smith) is headed back to Salem this summer. We’ve had confirmation of Sonny’s return for a while now, but it’s good to hear a time frame. Soap Opera Digest just announced that Sonny’s homecoming will take place in July. Many DOOL viewers will be glad to have him back!
Of course, we don’t have details on how long Sonny will be sticking around. “Days of Our Lives” is keeping that under wraps. Whether this stint is lengthy or brief, we’ll take whatever we can get.
Sonny is a fan favorite and his scenes should be a real treat. It looks like Freddie Smith is just as thrilled as we are. “I am beyond excited to be returning home to Salem,” Smith told SOD. “Sonny is back, and it’s going to be amazing!”
There have been a few “Days of Our Lives” rumors floating around about the possibility of another big return. Some buzz hints that Will could come back in the form of Chandler Massey. We all know soap characters can easily rise from the “dead,” but nothing’s been confirmed. It seems we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
We also saw leaked set photos that show Sonny at Club TBD and visiting someone in the hospital. Perhaps Victor (John Aniston) will make a return trip to the ER and Sonny will come to see Uncle Vic. Sonny is definitely the kind of guy who’d want to check up on a sick relative.
In addition, we can’t forget that Paul (Christopher Sean) was partially brainwashed by Yo Ling (Tobin Bell). He might need Sonny to help him regain control down the road. No matter what brings Sonny home, we’re sure it’ll be great material. DOOL watchers will anxiously await Sonny’s arrival. Stay tuned for updates on what’s in store.

Sonny yes, no to Will rising from the dead or a switch,been there,done that way too many times already. Love Chandler but he’s been gone long enough to make him another character. Anyway we’re already dealing with a lookalike with this Nicole/Helena nonsense getting a tad repetitious.
I am happy to see Freddie back on days, but I would rather it be short term to wrap up the story with Paul. Fine with me if they both ride off into the sunset happy together.
